Delete your account

You can delete your SparkyCert account and all of its data yourself:

This permanently removes your profile, licence details, certificate history, saved customers, site photos and notification tokens within 30 days. It cannot be undone. Two things are not affected: certificates already lodged with Building Commission NSW are part of the government record and stay with them, and a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play must be cancelled in that store separately.

If you can't sign in, or you own a business account and would rather we handled it, email us and we will delete it for you. Send it from the address on the account where you can, so we can be sure it is yours.

Frequently asked questions

Who is SparkyCert for?

SparkyCert is built for licensed electrical contractors and supervisor licence holders in New South Wales who need to lodge Certificates of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEWs) with the NSW eCert system.

Do I need a subscription to lodge certificates?

Yes. Every new account gets a one-time free period: 7 days of unlimited lodgements, then up to 5 free lodgements within your first 30 days. After that, lodging requires a subscription — the Individual plan ($9.99/month) for sole traders and supervisor licence holders, or a Business plan for teams: Starter ($24.99/month, up to 5 members), Pro ($49.99/month, up to 15 members), or Enterprise ($89.99/month, unlimited members).

What is the free trial?

When you create your account you get 7 days of unlimited lodgements at no charge, plus up to 5 free lodgements within your first 30 days. No payment details are needed to start. It applies once per account — after your first 30 days, a subscription (billed from purchase) or a promo code is required to lodge.

What is the difference between Individual and Business?

Individual ($9.99/month) is for sole traders and supervisor licence holders lodging their own certificates. Business plans are for contractors managing a team — the owner gets a web dashboard, can invite employees, and sees combined certificate history. Tiers: Starter ($24.99/month, up to 5 members), Pro ($49.99/month, up to 15 members), Enterprise ($89.99/month, unlimited members). You can upgrade your tier at any time from the app.

Why did my submission fail?

Submissions can fail if the eCert API is temporarily unavailable, or if there are validation errors in the certificate data. The app will show the error message returned by eCert. Check your licence number and all required fields, then tap "Try Again". If the problem persists, contact support.

What happens if I lose signal mid-form?

SparkyCert detects when you are offline and saves your work as a draft automatically. When you are back online, open the app and tap New Certificate — your draft will be waiting at the step you left off, ready to submit.

How do I cancel my subscription?

It depends where you subscribed. iPhone app: open Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone, find SparkyCert and cancel. Android app: open the Play Store → your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, choose SparkyCert and cancel. Web dashboard: there is no self-service cancel button for a web subscription — email support@sparkycert.com.au from the address on your account and we will cancel it for you, usually within one business day, effective from when you asked. Neither Apple nor Google can cancel a web subscription. Whichever route applies, your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Profile → Data & Privacy → Delete My Data. On the web dashboard: Profile → Delete my account. Either permanently deletes your account, profile, certificate history and saved customers, and cannot be undone. If you own a business account with people still on the team, hand ownership over or remove them first — otherwise deleting would cut off their access too. If you cannot sign in, use the account deletion request below on this page.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Accounts are secured by Clerk. We do not store passwords. Payments are handled by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe on our web checkout — we never see your card details.

Which phones is SparkyCert on?

SparkyCert is on the App Store for iPhone now, and the Android version has been submitted to Google Play and goes live as soon as Google finishes reviewing it. The web dashboard works in any browser and needs no app installed, so you can run the office side of things today whatever phone you carry.

Where does my certificate data go?

CCEW data is transmitted to the NSW eCert system operated by the Building Commission NSW, as required by law. It is also stored in your SparkyCert account history. We never sell your data or share it for marketing — it only goes to the service providers needed to run the app, which are listed in full in our Privacy Policy.
